Presurgical Orthodontia

The "before" picture shows an infant as seen on initial consultation. At this time, she is fitted for a special dental appliance pictured in the "during" photo. The "after" picture documents the change that occurs with this treatment. The same patient is shown at 3 months of age after pre-surgical orthopedic treatment. Prior to any surgery, there is already remarkable improvement in the gums, lip and nose. The post-operative photograph is taken just months after the initial surgery. Already the baby has a normal appearance and palate function, and will fit in with her peers without many of the difficulties that can accompany a facial deformity.
