Matthew J. Trovato, M.D.

Dr. Matthew J. Trovato earned his B.A. cum laude in Spanish and Latin American Studies and Biochemistry at Duke University and went on to graduate from New Jersey Medical School. He completed general and plastic and reconstructive surgery training at NJMS, hand and microsurgery subspecialization at the Buncke Clinic, facial aesthetic subspecialization under John Q. Owsley, M.D. in San Francisco, and pediatric and craniofacial subspecialization at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is known for his skills performing craniofacial surgery for children in Dallas.

A member of the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute, Dr. Trovato serves as a clinical faculty member at Baylor University Medical Center. His hospital appointments also include Co-Program Director of the Pediatric and Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship at Medical City Children's Hospital.

Dr. Trovato has published original research in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Annals of Plastic Surgery, the European Journal of Plastic Surgery, Microsurgery, Cutis, ePlasty, the Journal of Vascular Surgery, the Journal of Surgical Research, and the Journal of Hand Surgery. In addition, he has authored book chapters in aesthetic surgery, body contouring, extremity replantation, facial trauma, facial reconstruction, and the use of stem cells in plastic surgery.
